Our Journey Into the Hot Pepper industry:
Well, where do i begin? It really all started back a few years ago, when I was working as a Head Chef for a local place here in Tampa. I was really interested in taking the kitchen on a "Spicy Detour" if you will, something that only a well informed chef with his finger on the pulse of the culinary world would decide to do! You see, America is an EVER changing society, built on the very most basic freedoms and rights that attracts human beings from ALL over the planet. And when this population becomes more and more diverse by the day, these people are also bringing their cultures and CUISINES with them!! :) That is where it hit me!!! American cuisine is almost the ONLY cuisine on the planet in which "Spicy Ingredients" are not a STAPLE of everyday meals. So once I sat down and did the math it all made sense!! America is becoming the MOST culturally diverse country on the planet and there is a SERIOUS void of "Spices" available on a "Fresh" level. So i went to my father, who already had a nursery business running on family owned land, and asked him what he thought.......And Baker's Peppers LLC was born! I got a business permit and registered with the state, invested my own start up money, purchased the soil, the pots, the seeds, and the fertilizers. I also invested in laying an in-line pressurized drip fertigation system to each plant in a section of over 5,000 plants. I also have full overhead sprinklers to every inch of "useable" space on the property, that we use to counter the brutal summers we have here in Florida! :) Anyway, I just wanted to give you a quick look at who we are, where we are, and what we are......A Spice Company you can look to for ALL of your "Spicy" needs!
We are a year round facility in the aspect of fresh pepper production. We are up and running 365 days a year, and there has been a nursery running on this property for almost 60 years! My grand father bought this property over a half century ago with the purpose of one thing,,,,,,,GROW! So he did, and my father has done after him, and now on to me! A new business, a new product, and a new name.... Baker's Peppers LLC and www.BakersPeppers.com ...
